Erika Erdész
Painter and graphic artist
For me, art has never been merely about capturing the visible world; it is an endeavor to manifest the unseen and evoke deep contemplation. By placing the simplest, most familiar forms and objects into my work, I imbue them with rich symbolic meaning. Through a unique, mythic, and symbolic visual language, I explore the universal complexities that define the human experience. This approach invites viewers to engage with the artwork through the lens of their own thoughts and emotional states, allowing the image to live on in their minds. The monochrome palette and stark contrast of light and shadow create a dreamlike, philosophical atmosphere. These compositions, which often verge on the apocalyptic, transport the viewer into a non-existent yet seemingly tangible dimension—a familiar unknown.
